HiLook 16 Channel DVR with Built-in 1TB eSSD Storage

The HiLook DVR-E16G-B is a 16 channel DVR with 1TB of eSSD storage built in at the factory, 960GB of it usable for recordings. It is the biggest recorder in our HiLook range and the one to take once you have more than eight cameras. There is no hard drive to buy or fit and no hard drive bay, so the storage is fixed and cannot be added to or swapped. It records up to 16 HD coax cameras in 1080p Lite at 15 frames a second with H.265 Pro compression, and carries sound over the coax on all 16 channels. Alectra supplies the recorder only.

Which HiLook DVR do you need?

Go for this one when the property needs nine to 16 cameras, or when you want spare channels to add cameras later. For up to eight cameras, the HiLook 8 channel DVR with 512GB eSSD works the same way, and the 8 channel Turbo HD DVR takes a hard drive of up to 4TB that you choose yourself. Recording and storage

Every channel is recorded in 1080p Lite, HiLook's reduced 1080p mode, at 15 frames a second, and H.265 Pro compression keeps the files small. With up to 16 cameras sharing 960GB, how many days you keep depends on how many cameras are connected and how busy each scene is, so we do not quote a fixed number. Recording on motion only, instead of all the time, makes the storage last longer.

Cameras and sound

The HiLook Turbo HD cameras are 4-in-1 coax cameras that work with HiLook and Hikvision Turbo HD DVRs, so you can mix the HiLook 2MP bullet on the outside walls, the ColorVu bullet where you want colour at night, and the indoor turret dome or ColorVu turret dome inside. You do not have to fill all 16 channels on day one. Sound from cameras with a mic, such as the HiLook dual light bullet, comes down the coax on all 16 channels; audio recording is off by default, so switch it on in the recording settings.

Wiring, power and viewing

Run RG59 cable with a power pair to each camera, with BNC crimp connectors on the video and a DC connector on the power pair. The Hikvision 16 channel CCTV power supply gives 8A in total for the cameras, and the 18 channel CCTV power supply box powers 16 cameras with outputs to spare. The recorder draws 9.5W or less. Connect a monitor or TV for viewing on site, and connect the recorder to your router for phone app viewing. The system is installed by your installer; Alectra supplies the equipment only.
