Ask about a replacementThe Zartek wireless intercom on this page is the old ZA-650 kit, and it is discontinued. Zartek has replaced it with the ZA-660-A, and we can no longer supply the ZA-650. It was a one-button kit with a portable handset for the house, a gate station, and a relay board to trigger the gate motor. If your ZA-650 has failed, or you want a new gate intercom, ask the branch about a current replacement.
What the ZA-650 kit was
Only the link between the gate and the house was wireless. The gate station still needed 12V DC power and wiring from the relay board to the gate motor, so it was never fully wireless. Zartek gives a typical range of 50 to 70m in built-up areas.
Old and new Zartek units do not pair
Zartek states that its new white ZA-661 handsets cannot be added to the older dark grey ZA-650 gate units, and the old black ZA-651 handsets cannot be linked to the new light grey ZA-660-A gate units. So if one part of a ZA-650 system fails, Zartek advises replacing it with an older-style unit.
Choosing a replacement
The branch can advise on a current gate intercom. We list wired kits such as the Kocom audio intercom kit and the Centurion Systems 2-wire intercom kit, and the Centurion Systems G-Speak Ultra, which lets you answer the gate on your cellphone. Alectra supplies the equipment only; your installer fits it.
Key features
- Wireless from gate to house. Only the link between the gate station and the handset was wireless.
- Portable handset. The ZA-650 kit came with a portable handset for the house.
- Relay board for the gate motor. The relay board was wired to the gate motor so the gate could be triggered from the handset.
- Needs 12V DC at the gate. The gate station still needed a 12V DC supply, so it was not fully wireless.
- 50 to 70m typical range. Zartek gives 50 to 70m in built-up areas.
- Does not pair with new units. ZA-650 and ZA-651 units cannot be linked to the new ZA-660-A and ZA-661 units.
