The price table above shows today's price for a 9 kg exchange and every other size. All prices include VAT, and the gas costs the same whether you order online or walk in. If you choose delivery, the delivery fee is added at checkout.

With an exchange you bring an empty cylinder and take a full one of the same size. If you do not have an empty, you buy a cylinder: either with gas, ready to use, or empty. From your next visit you exchange it like everyone else.

Yes, in Pretoria. We deliver every cylinder size, from 3 kg to 48 kg, from the Alectra branch nearest to you, and the fee depends on the driving distance from that branch. Within 5 km the fee is R99, or free when your order includes a 48 kg cylinder, and from 5 to 10 km it is R150 for every size. If you live further than 10 km from a branch, please collect. Our driver brings the full cylinder to where you need it on your property, connects it to your regulator and takes the empty away, at no extra charge. Orders placed before 12:00 are delivered the same day and orders placed after 12:00 go out the next business day. We don't deliver on Sundays or public holidays.

When you order online you can pay by card or EFT. If you collect, you can also choose to pay at the branch. At the counter you can pay cash, card or EFT.

It depends on what runs on it. A cylinder that only feeds a stove lasts much longer than one that also runs a heater or a gas geyser in winter. If your gas runs out much faster than usual, have your regulator and connections checked.

A 9 kg cylinder suits most homes running one appliance, such as a stove or a heater. A 19 kg or 48 kg cylinder suits several appliances or heavy use. Smaller 3 kg to 7 kg cylinders are handy for camping and portable braais.
