The HiLook THC-B120-PC is the IR bullet in the HiLook camera range: a 2MP 1080p Turbo HD camera in a plastic IP66 housing that goes on an outside wall, under an eave or on a pole and sees up to 20 metres in the dark in black and white. It has no white light, no microphone and no network port. The picture travels down RG59 coax to a HiLook or Hikvision Turbo HD DVR, and the camera runs on 12V DC at a maximum of 2.1W. Alectra supplies the camera on its own, so the power supply, cable, connectors and DVR are chosen and fitted by your installer.
What's in the box
- 1 x HiLook THC-B120-PC 2MP bullet camera, 2.8mm lens, on its adjustable bracket
Hikvision's datasheet lists no other contents. The 12V power supply, RG59 cable, BNC and DC connectors and the DVR are sold separately.
Which HiLook camera do you need?
This is the camera for an outside wall where you want IR night vision and nothing more. If you want colour at night, the HiLook 2MP ColorVu bullet uses an F1.0 lens and a white light instead of IR. The HiLook 2MP dual light bullet has IR and white light plus a built-in mic. Inside the house or office, the HiLook 2MP indoor turret dome is the same 2MP IR camera in a smaller body with no weather rating. If you need four cameras and a recorder, the HiLook 4 channel CCTV kit is built around this bullet.
Night vision: Smart IR up to 20 metres
When the light drops, the camera moves its IR cut filter out of the way and lights the scene with infrared up to 20 metres, recording in black and white. Smart IR turns the IR output down when something is close to the lens, so a face at the gate is not washed out to a white blob. Hikvision rates the minimum illumination at 0.02 lux with the AGC on, and 0 lux once the IR is on. Digital WDR and backlight compensation help when the subject stands in front of a bright gate or doorway.
Connecting it to a DVR
The THC-B120-PC is a 4-in-1 analogue HD camera: its single video output can be set to TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS, so it works with HiLook and Hikvision Turbo HD DVRs such as the HiLook 4 channel Turbo HD DVR and the HiLook 4 channel eSSD DVR. It does not work with an NVR and it has no PoE: power is 12V DC only. Run RG59 cable with a power pair from the DVR, crimp a BNC connector on the video core and fit a DC connector on the power pair, and feed the 12V from a Hikvision CCTV power supply. Where the run is on CAT6 instead of coax, a pair of passive video baluns carries the video.
Where to mount it
The housing is plastic and rated IP66 against dust and heavy rain, with a working range of -40°C to 60°C, so it is made for an outside wall, an eave or a pole. The bracket pans 360°, tilts 180° and rotates 360°, which lets your installer level the picture after the base is screwed down. The 2.8mm lens gives a 92° horizontal view, wide enough to cover a driveway or a yard from a corner. The camera is installed by your installer; Alectra supplies the equipment only.
Key features
- 1080p over coax. A 2MP CMOS sensor records 1920 x 1080 at 25 frames a second, sent down ordinary RG59 coax to a Turbo HD DVR.
- Smart IR to 20 metres. Infrared lights the scene up to 20m at night and dims itself for anything close to the lens, so faces are not over-exposed.
- 4-in-1 output. The video output switches between TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS to match the DVR channel it is plugged into.
- IP66 for outdoors. Sealed plastic housing rated against dust and heavy rain, working from -40°C to 60°C.
- Digital WDR and BLC. Evens out a scene with a bright gate or doorway behind the subject, so the person is not a silhouette.
- Low power 12V DC. Draws a maximum of 2.1W, well under the 1A per output of a Hikvision CCTV power supply.
- Three-axis bracket. Pan 360°, tilt 180° and rotate 360° to level the picture after the base is fixed.
- Wide 2.8mm lens. A 92° horizontal field of view covers a driveway, yard or shopfront from one corner.

Questions people ask
No. It is an analogue HD camera that sends its picture over coax, so it needs a Turbo HD DVR. An NVR only takes network (IP) cameras.
Yes. HiLook is a Hikvision brand and the camera uses the same Turbo HD system, so it plugs into HiLook and Hikvision Turbo HD DVRs. Set the DVR channel to TVI, or switch the camera to AHD or CVI if that is what the recorder expects.
Hikvision rates the IR at up to 20 metres. At night the picture is black and white; for colour at night look at the HiLook ColorVu bullet.
No. The box holds the camera only. You need a 12V DC supply, RG59 cable with a power pair, a BNC connector for the video and a DC connector for the power, all sold separately.
No. For sound over the same coax, the HiLook 2MP dual light bullet (THC-B127-LPS) has a built-in mic.
No. Hikvision rates the THC-B120-PC at IP66, which covers dust and heavy rain. It is not meant to be submerged.
The 4-in-1 output includes AHD and CVI as well as TVI, so it can be set to match other HD-over-coax recorders. We have only confirmed it with HiLook and Hikvision Turbo HD DVRs, so check your recorder's supported formats first.
The 2.8mm wide angle, with a 92° horizontal view. HiLook also makes a 3.6mm version of this model, which is not this listing.
