A pack of 100 nail in anchors, 6 x 60mm, for fixing electric fence brackets, bobbin insulators, warning signs and conduit clips to brick, concrete and block. The size tells you what to do: 6 means a 6mm masonry drill bit, 60 means the anchor is 60mm long, so drill a hole a little deeper than 60mm, tap the plug in flush and hammer the nail home. This is the lighter of our two anchor sizes and the bulk pack for a whole fence line. For heavier brackets, see the 8 x 80mm in a pack of 50.

Nail in anchors sizes: 6 x 60mm or 8 x 80mm?

The first number is the drill bit and the hole, the second is the length. The 6 x 60mm on this page is the general fixing for brackets, insulators, signs and clips on sound brick and concrete, in a pack of 100 so you do not run out halfway along the wall. The 8 x 80mm is the longer, thicker anchor for heavier brackets, and for plastered or softer walls where a short anchor does not get enough grip.

How a nail in anchor fixes a bracket

Hold the bracket in place and drill through its fixing holes into the wall with a 6mm masonry bit, a little deeper than 60mm. Tap the plug in through the bracket until the collar sits on the bracket foot, then hammer the nail in. The nail spreads the plug in the hole and the countersunk head finishes flush. Allow one anchor per fixing hole on the bracket, plus a few spare for signs and clips.

Brick and concrete, not steel

Nail in anchors are for masonry. On a steel post or frame use self-drilling tek screws instead. For square tube brackets Nemtek also makes a coach screw and plug set.

Pairs well with

Our 6 line and 8 line straight square tube brackets, the 6 line top bend bracket, the electric fence warning sign, the 6 line electric fence kit and a Nemtek Merlin Stealth M18S energizer, which comes with 4 nail-in anchors of its own for the unit; this pack is for the brackets.

Questions people ask
What does 6 x 60mm mean?

6 is the drill bit and hole size in millimetres, 60 is the length of the anchor. So you drill a 6mm hole a little deeper than 60mm and the anchor fills it.

How deep do I drill?

A little deeper than 60mm, so the nail can drive fully home and dust at the bottom of the hole does not stop the plug seating.

Which walls can I use them on?

Brick, concrete and block. They are a masonry fixing. For a steel post or frame use self-drilling tek screws instead.

What is the thickest bracket they can fix?

The maker does not state it. The 60mm has to cover the thickness of the bracket foot plus the depth in the wall, so for a thick foot, or a plastered or soft wall, use the 8 x 80mm.

How many anchors per bracket?

Count the fixing holes on your bracket and allow one anchor per hole, plus a few spare for warning signs and conduit clips.

Do I need a screwdriver?

No. The nail is hammered in. You need a drill with a 6mm masonry bit and a hammer.

Does Alectra install electric fencing?

No. Alectra supplies the equipment only. An electric fence must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer, who issues the compliance certificate.

Need it fitted? Alectra Solutions supplies product only. Ask the branch and we will point you to installers in Pretoria.
