A 50 pack of Nemtek 6mm bolt-type line clamps for new fences and installers who keep stock. These are the same XL galvanised electric fence wire joint clamps as our single clamp, sold as 50 so you are not short of a joint halfway round the boundary. Each clamp is rated by Nemtek for fence wire up to 1.6mm (6mm is the clamp size, not the wire size) and is tightened with a bolt, so any joint can be undone and re-made later.

How many clamps does a fence take?
Nemtek does not give a figure, so count it off your own layout: one clamp for every place two wires meet, which means the joins between rolls, the connection from the HT lead-out cable to each strand, and spares for repairs. On a six or eight line fence that adds up fast, which is why installers keep a pack of 50 in the van rather than buying singles.
Which wires it joins
Nemtek rates the 6mm clamp for wire up to 1.6mm, which covers its 1.2mm galvanised, 1.2mm 304 stainless steel and 1.6mm aluminium fence wire, and Nemtek says it joins electric fence cables as well as wires. For aluminium wire Nemtek's other option is the 6mm aluminium ferrule, which is crimped and permanent.
Bolted, not crimped
Because the joint is held by a bolt, you can open it to re-tension a strand, replace a damaged length or move a connection. You also need no crimping tool. The finish is XL galvanised; Nemtek also makes a stainless steel version (EA-LC6/SS). Nemtek lists no pack size, so the 50 is our quantity, not a Nemtek pack code.
