This is the blue JVA Nite Lite, an electric fence indicator light that flashes with every pulse from the energizer so people can see the fence is live. Blue is the pick when you want the light to stand apart from the red alarm strobes and beacons already on the wall, or to match blue fence lights elsewhere on the property. Like the red version it has no battery: one stainless steel lead goes to a live fence wire, the other to earth, and the fence pulse drives it. Expect about 0.3kV less fence voltage for each light you fit. The red Nite Lite is the same light in red.
What's in the box
- 1 JVA Nite Lite, blue, with two stainless steel leads attached
Fitting the Nite Lite
Connect the "+" lead to a live wire and the other lead to an earth wire, then fix both with a line clamp or a crimp ferrule. There is no cable to the energizer, nothing to charge and nothing to replace. Because it only flashes when a pulse arrives, a dark Nite Lite tells you the fence is off or that section has lost voltage.
Blue or red?
The two lights are the same apart from the colour. Many sites put red at the gate and blue along the wall, or choose blue so the fence light is not confused with a red alarm strobe. If you run stainless steel wire with a Nemtek Timed Fence Light, the blue Nite Lite matches it.
Voltage drop and energizers
Each Nite Lite takes about 0.3kV off the fence, so add up the drop if you fit several and have the installer check the fence voltage afterwards. It is wired to the fence, not the energizer, which makes it brand neutral: it works on fences run by the Nemtek Merlin Stealth M18S, the Merlin Stealth M28S, the Wizord 4i and the Druid 15 LCD. Alectra supplies the equipment only. The fence must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer.
Key features
- Flashes with the fence. Every pulse from the energizer lights it up, so a flashing Nite Lite means a live fence.
- No batteries, no power lead. It is driven by the fence pulse. Nothing to charge or replace.
- Two stainless steel leads. The "+" lead goes to a live wire and the other to earth. Fix them with a line clamp or crimp ferrule.
- Blue stands apart from alarm strobes. Choose blue when red beacons are already on the wall, or to match blue fence lights on the property.
- Small voltage drop. About 0.3kV less on the fence per light. Add it up if you fit a few.
- A quick fence check. If it stops flashing, the fence is off or that section has lost its voltage.
- Not tied to an energizer brand. It connects to the fence wires, so it suits fences run by Nemtek, DTS and other security energizers.

Questions people ask
Only in colour. Both flash with the fence pulse, both have stainless steel leads and both drop the fence voltage by about 0.3kV.
No. The fence pulse powers it. One lead to a live wire, one to earth, and it flashes every time the energizer fires.
Use a line clamp or a crimp ferrule on each lead so it cannot work loose. The clamps and ferrules are sold separately.
As many as the fence voltage allows. Each light takes about 0.3kV, so add up the drop and have the installer check the fence voltage after fitting them.
Yes. It is wired to the fence wires, not to the energizer, so the brand of energizer does not matter.
Yes, that is the usual spot. Fit it where visitors and passers-by can see it, so they know the fence is live.
Leave it to your registered electric fence installer, who works on the live fence and checks the voltage afterwards. Alectra supplies the light only.
