The Nemtek Wizord 4i energizer is the single zone electric fence energizer Nemtek makes for homes: 3.7 joules into a 500 ohm load and 8000V open-circuit, in a case smaller than the Merlin Stealth. It runs on 240V mains and comes with its 12V 7Ah backup battery, which Nemtek rates at 24 hours of standby, so the fence stays live through a full day of load shedding. The tag that switches it on and off and four nail-in anchors are in the box, and Nemtek covers it with a 2 year warranty.
What's in the box
- Wizord 4i energizer
- 12V 7Ah backup battery
- Energizer tag
- 4 nail-in anchors
Which Nemtek energizer do you need?
The Wizord 4i is the right size for a house fence. If you want a screen on the unit and a bit more output, the Nemtek Druid 15 LCD gives 4.6 joules with a colour-change LCD. For a bigger property or a longer fence, the Merlin Stealth M18S gives 7.6 joules, and the Merlin Stealth M28S splits the fence into two zones.
Battery backup is built in
The 12V 7Ah battery is supplied as standard and sits inside the energizer, kept charged from the mains. Nemtek rates the standby time at 24 hours. When the battery gets old, replace it with a 12V 7Ah sealed lead acid battery such as our G-MAX7 12V 7.2Ah battery.
Tag, status lights and phone
Hold the tag over the Nemtek logo on the front of the unit: it beeps once to switch on and twice to switch off, and a spare tag is available. The Power, On, Fence, Alarm, Gate and Service lights on the front show the state of the fence. With the Nemtek Connect WiFi gateway, sold separately, you can also arm, disarm and get alerts from the Nemtek Connect app on your phone.
Gate input and alarm outputs
A gate input raises an alarm when the gate is opened while the fence is armed. There are siren and strobe outputs (1.8A maximum combined) and an alarm relay with common, normally open and normally closed contacts, which can trigger an armed response radio or GSM module.
Where to mount it
The Wizord 4i is rated IPx4, so it needs a covered position out of direct rain. Where there is no cover, it fits inside the DTS MS5 weatherproof box. Fix it to the wall with the four nail-in anchors in the box and fit one Nemtek Double Pole Lightning Diverter between the energizer and the fence. The fence and its mains connection must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer, who issues the electric fence system certificate. Alectra supplies the equipment only.
Key features
- Battery backup built in. The 12V 7Ah battery inside the unit keeps the fence live for about 24 hours when the mains goes off.
- Tag included. Arm and disarm the fence by holding the magnetic tag over the logo on the front: one beep for on, two for off.
- Status lights. Power, On, Fence, Alarm, Gate and Service lights show the state of the fence at a glance.
- Gate input. Connect a gate contact so the fence alarms when the gate is opened while it is armed.
- Siren, strobe and relay outputs. Siren and strobe outputs (1.8A maximum combined) plus an alarm relay with common, normally open and normally closed contacts.
- Armed response or GSM. The alarm relay can trigger an armed response radio or a GSM module.
- Phone control with Nemtek Connect. Works with the Nemtek Connect WiFi gateway and app, sold separately, for control and alerts on your phone.
- 2 year warranty. Nemtek covers its energizers for two years from the date of sale.

Questions people ask
Nemtek's spec table rates it at 3.7 joules into a 500 ohm load, so that is the figure we publish. The energy that reaches the fence depends on the fence load.
No. The Wizord 4i runs on 240V mains. The 12V 7Ah battery inside is a backup that is kept charged from the mains.
Nemtek rates the standby time at 24 hours on a charged battery. The time drops as the battery ages and if the fence is in poor condition.
Yes. Nemtek supplies the Wizord 4i with its 12V 7Ah battery, the energizer tag and 4 nail-in anchors.
Yes, with the Nemtek Connect WiFi gateway and the Nemtek Connect app. The gateway is sold separately. Nemtek notes that Wizords made before 2019 may need a hardware update for this, which does not affect a new unit.
It is rated IPx4, so it needs a covered position. We have only confirmed the DTS MS5 weatherproof box for the Megashock 5 and Merlin Stealth M18S, so ask the branch before buying a box for a Wizord.
Nemtek does not state a maximum length. It depends on the wire, the joints and how much vegetation touches the fence. Ask the branch with your fence length and number of lines.
The energizer runs on 240V mains, so the mains connection and the fence must be done by a registered electric fence installer who can issue the compliance certificate. Alectra supplies the equipment only.
Need it fitted? Alectra Solutions supplies product only. Ask the branch and we will point you to installers in Pretoria.
