This is the 8 line electric fence bracket in round bar: a straight black steel rod with eight round bar bobbins fitted, one per line, and a flattened foot at the base with a fixing hole. It is the taller partner to the 6 line round bar bracket, with two more lines for more height above the wall, and the round bar alternative to our 8 line straight square tube bracket. A solid rod with round bobbins that fit over it, rather than a hollow tube with stepped bobbins. Some people call it an 8 wire round bar bracket.
Round bar or square tube?
Both are straight, upright wall-top brackets in black. The round bar is a solid rod and its bobbins are the round bar type, with a centre hole that takes the rod. The square tube is hollow and carries stepped bobbins, and it comes in top bend and bottom bend patterns as well. The round bar is only made straight, so if you need the lines to lean out over the wall, look at the 8 line bottom bend in square tube.
Bobbins fitted
Eight round bar bobbins come fitted. If one is damaged later, or you want to add a line, we sell the round bar bobbin insulator singly; it is the bobbin fitted to this bracket.
Fixing and bracing
Fixings are not included. The flattened foot has a hole for the wall fixing; on brick and concrete use 8 x 80mm nail-in anchors or 6 x 60mm nail-in anchors to suit the hole, and on steel use tek screws. We stock one stay, the 750mm stay with sleeve and screws, which we pair with the square tube brackets in our kits; ask the branch before ordering it for a round bar run.
Rules to know before you buy
In South Africa an electric fence must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer, who issues the certificate of compliance. Alectra supplies the equipment only. A fence on top of a wall must stand at least 1.5m above the ground, warning signs go at every gate and access point and no more than 10m apart, and angled brackets are fixed on the inside of the boundary wall, with the neighbour's consent if they lean into their property.

Run the fence from the Nemtek Wizord 4i energizer or, for a bigger property, the Nemtek Merlin Stealth M18S, with 1.6mm aluminium fence wire and a gold 8kg spring tensioner on each line.
