This 3 way PVC junction box has three 20mm entries in a tee: two in line and one at 90 degrees, so a conduit run can carry straight on and branch off to the side at the same point. It is round and white, and the lid is included. For a straight run with no branch, use the 2 way junction box; where the conduit ends, use the 1 way junction box.

How the tee layout works

The two entries in line take the main run of 20mm PVC conduit through the box. The third entry, at 90 degrees, takes the branch, for example down a wall to a switch or across to a light. All three entries take 20mm PVC conduit.

Fitting conduit to a 3 way junction box

Push the conduit into each entry, or glue it with PVC solvent cement for a firmer joint. Join lengths of conduit between boxes with a 20mm coupling. Leave the lid off until the cable is pulled through and the connections are made, then fit the lid.

Electrical work and the CoC

Where the conduit carries mains wiring, the work must be done by a registered electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance (CoC). Alectra Solutions supplies the fittings only and does not install.

What is a 3 way PVC junction box used for?
