This track mount pulley is an open pulley that comes with a bolt and nut, as in the photo. It mounts on the horizontal track or a track hanger of a tension spring garage door and turns the lifting cable towards the spring. It is not the same as the spring mount pulley, a closed clevis pulley that hooks onto the end of the spring. They are two different garage door parts, so check which one you are replacing. A door needs one track pulley per side, sold singly.
Track pulley or spring pulley?
The track pulley stays fixed on the track, held by its bolt and nut, and changes the direction of the cable. The spring pulley hangs on the end of the spring and carries the cable there. Each side of a tension spring door has one of each.
Where it fits
The bolt goes through the centre of the pulley and fixes it to the horizontal track or a track hanger. The lifting cable for tension spring doors comes up from the bottom bracket, runs over this pulley and turns towards the spring, such as the 65kg tension spring (red end loop).
Safety
The cable over this pulley carries the pull of the springs. Spring and cable work should be done by an experienced garage door installer. Alectra Solutions supplies the equipment only.
