50m of Nemtek slimline single core HT cable for electric fence lead-outs, for when 30m is too short and 100m is more than you need. It is the black slimline cable with a double insulated, UV stabilised sheath, and it links the energizer to the first live wire and the earth terminal to the earth spike. 50m suits an energizer mounted a little further from the fence, a two zone layout, or a fence with a few jumpers between sections. The same slimline cable is listed as 30m and 100m rolls.

Which HT cable length do you need?

Add up the run from the energizer to the first live wire, the run from the earth terminal to the earth spike, and every jumper between fence sections, then allow a little spare. Under 30m, take the 30m roll. Between 30m and 50m, this one. For a long lead-out, several zones or a big fence job, the 100m slimline roll or, for a fence strung with aluminium wire, the Nemtek A-Series HT cable in 100m.

Double insulated and UV stabilised

Nemtek's slimline HT cable is double insulated and UV stabilised, so it can run exposed along the top of a wall and down to the earth spike. It is a single core cable: one run for the live feed, one for the earth. It is not Nemtek's undergate cable; for runs under a gate or driveway Nemtek sells the U-Series Undergate HT cable.

What goes with it

Join the cable to the fence wire with a Nemtek 6mm bolt-type line clamp, and take the earth run to a Nemtek copper clad earth spike, whose double nut and washer clamp the cable. Nemtek's double pole lightning diverter sits in this cable run between the energizer and the fence, within 2m of the earth spike. Tidy the cable with 100mm cable ties. It suits the Merlin Stealth M18S, Merlin Stealth M28S and Wizord 4i energizers. The fence must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer. Alectra supplies the equipment only.

Questions people ask
What is HT cable for on an electric fence?

It is the insulated lead-out: it carries the energizer's high voltage pulse from the fence terminal to the first live wire, and links the earth terminal to the earth spike, so the pulse reaches the fence without leaking to the wall, brackets or ground on the way.

When is 50m the right amount of HT cable for electric fence work?

When the run from the energizer to the first live wire, plus the run to the earth spike and any jumpers between sections, comes to between 30m and 50m. Under that, take the 30m roll; over it, the 100m.

Is it the same cable as the 30m and 100m rolls?

Yes, the same Nemtek slimline single core HT cable in black, in a 50m length.

Can I run it underground or under a gate?

Nemtek does not say the slimline S-Series can be buried. For runs under gates and driveways Nemtek sells a separate U-Series Undergate HT cable with a galvanised conductor; ask the branch about it.

What does single core mean?

One insulated conductor per cable. You run one length from the energizer's fence terminal to the fence and a second length from the earth terminal to the earth spike.

How do I connect the cable to the fence wire?

With a Nemtek 6mm bolt-type line clamp, which Nemtek lists for joining electric fence cables and wires. At the earth spike, the Nemtek copper clad spike has a double nut and washer that clamps the cable.

Do I need an installer?

Yes. An electric fence, including the energizer connection and the earthing, must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer. Alectra supplies the cable and fittings only.

Need it fitted? Alectra Solutions supplies product only. Ask the branch and we will point you to installers in Pretoria.
