Electric fence sliding gate contacts carry the live fence wires across the gate, so the fence stays one circuit when the gate is closed. The Nemtek 2-Way Gate Contact (EA-SGC07) is the crimp lug version: two live contacts wired in series, with brass contact plates on stainless steel and UV-stabilised nylon parts. One half mounts on the wall or pole side, the other on the gate, and the plates meet when the gate closes. Fixing screws are in the box; the mounting bracket is sold separately.

Crimp lug or brass connectors?
Nemtek makes the 2-Way Gate Contact in two versions: EA-SGC07 with crimp lug connectors, which is the one we sell, and EA-SGC13 with brass cable connectors. With the lug version the installer crimps the HT cable onto the lugs. Nemtek's earth plate option is only offered on the brass connector version, so it does not apply here.
What about the earth wire?
The 2-way carries two live wires across the gate. If the gate section also carries an earth wire, Nemtek's assembly drawing shows two ways to do it: a second 2-Way Gate Contact wired in series for the earth loop, or the Nemtek 3-Way Gate Contact, which has two live contacts plus an earth contact in one unit and gives short-to-earth detection on the gate. Nemtek lists the 2-way for sliding gates. We also stock a JVA sliding gate contact for sliding gates.
Mounting
The large location plates give the gate more tolerance in how it closes while the contacts still meet. Mount both halves on the Nemtek gate contact bracket set (EA-SGC/UNIB), which is sold separately and comes with adjustable screws for finer setting. The fence and its mains connection must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer, who issues the electric fence system certificate. Alectra supplies the equipment only.
