This is the 50kg torsion spring, marked with a beige stripe. It is one step up from the 45kg (green) and one below the 60kg (blue) in our garage door springs range, and it is the same spring as the 50kg Beige option on the all-weights page. You get one spring, left-wound or right-wound, for a sectional garage door. Do not confuse it with the 70kg, which has a white stripe.
Choosing between the 45kg, 50kg and 60kg garage door springs
The 50kg suits single or double sectional doors at the lighter end of the range. If your door had a 45kg green spring before, stay with the 45kg; if the old spring has a plain blue stripe, look at the 60kg. Matching the old spring is the safest guide, because the right weight depends on your door. When there is no old spring to go by, your installer can tell you which weight the door needs.
Beige, not white
The 50kg is marked with a beige stripe. White belongs to our 70kg, so a white stripe means a much heavier spring. These colours are our supplier's code and not an industry standard, so springs from other suppliers may use other colours. The stripe also gives the installer a line to count turns by while winding.
Picking Left or Right
Every spring on this page comes either left-wound or right-wound, and one cannot stand in for the other. Look at the spring on your door, or the order it came from, and pick the same wind in the variant picker. Your installer can confirm the wind if you are not sure.
Who should fit it
Garage door springs, cables, drums and brackets are all under high tension, so spring and cable work should be done by an experienced garage door installer. Alectra Solutions supplies the equipment only. If your installer finds worn parts while the spring is off, we also supply lifting cables for torsion doors, the left and right cable drums and the centre bearing plate.

Your garage door installer can tell from the spring on the door. Order the same wind as the old one, because a spring wound the other way will not work in its place.
No. In our range white is the 70kg and the 50kg is beige. If your old spring came from another supplier, go by its kg rating, because colours differ between suppliers.
No. Our torsion springs are for sectional garage doors only.
Single or double sectional doors at the lighter end of the range. The best guide is the spring already on your door: match its kg and its wind.
