Here you are buying the 70kg torsion spring, the one with the white stripe. It is the step between the 65kg (blue and white) and the 80kg (yellow). Each order line is one spring for a sectional garage door, left-wound or right-wound. Weight and stripe colour are the two things to match, and the all-weights page shows all our garage door springs side by side.
70kg garage door springs: which doors they suit
The 70kg is a spring for heavier double sectional doors, where our range moves from the middle weights into the heavier ones. Below it is the 65kg; above it the 80kg and 90kg. Stripe colours are not the same across suppliers: another South African seller's 70kg spring is green, for example. So if your old spring came from somewhere else, order by the kg rating and wind, not by colour.
The white stripe
The white stripe is our supplier's code for 70kg, and it is easy to mix up with the beige of the 50kg, which is a much lighter spring. If in doubt, go by the kg on your order, not the colour. The stripe also helps the installer count turns while winding.
Picking Left or Right
Every spring on this page comes either left-wound or right-wound, and one cannot stand in for the other. Look at the spring on your door, or the order it came from, and pick the same wind in the variant picker. Your installer can confirm the wind if you are not sure.
Fitting and the parts around it
This is not a DIY job. The spring, cables, drums and brackets are all under high tension, and spring and cable work should be done by an experienced garage door installer. Alectra Solutions supplies the parts only. The spring anchors to the centre bearing plate, and the shaft it turns carries the cable drums that wind the lifting cables.

Yes. Each order line is one 70kg spring, left-wound or right-wound. If your door has two springs, order two, each with the same wind as the spring it replaces.
Order the same wind as the spring you are replacing. Left-wound and right-wound springs turn in opposite directions and cannot be swapped. If you cannot tell, ask your garage door installer to check before you order.
It can be the same weight with a different colour, because each supplier uses its own code. Order by the kg rating and the wind, and have your installer check it suits the door.
