This multi plug 7 way extension turns one wall socket into seven outlets of three different types: 3 SA 3-pin outlets for large round-pin plugs, 3 two-pin Euro outlets for flat 2-pin plugs such as chargers, and 1 round Schuko-type outlet. On/off switches sit on top between the outlets, and there is a power button with an indicator light at one end.
Which plugs fit the 7 way multi plug?
- 3 SA 3-pin outlets on top, for large round-pin plugs (SANS 164-1) like our 16A plug top.
- 3 two-pin Euro outlets along the side, for flat 2-pin plugs on chargers and small electronics.
- 1 Schuko-type outlet, a round outlet for round European plugs. A flat 2-pin Euro plug fits it too.
There is no outlet for the new slim 3-pin plug (SANS 164-2), so a slim 3-pin plug needs an adaptor, or a wall socket with a slim outlet such as the 4x4 combination plug socket.
Switches and power button
The on/off switches on top let you switch off what you are not using without pulling plugs out. The power button at the end has an indicator light, so it is easy to spot even under a desk.
Using a multi plug safely
Plug the multi plug straight into a wall socket, not into another multi plug or adaptor. Keep the cord where nobody will trip over it or pinch it in a door, and do not cover the unit with papers or cloth. If the plug or the multi plug gets warm, unplug some appliances. A multi plug simply plugs in, so you do not need an electrician to use it. Adding a new wall socket is a different matter: that is fixed wiring, done by a registered electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance (CoC).

Questions people ask
Three large round-pin SA 3-pin plugs, three flat 2-pin Euro plugs and one round Schuko-type plug.
No. This unit has no slim 3-pin (SANS 164-2) outlet. Use an adaptor, or a wall socket with a slim outlet.
Yes. A flat 2-pin Euro plug also fits the Schuko-type outlet, so it can serve as a fourth Euro outlet.
Rather not. Plug it straight into a wall socket. Chaining multi plugs makes it easy to overload the wall socket.
No. It plugs into a wall socket. Fitting new wall sockets is a job for a registered electrician.
