The Centurion Systems Nova 1 button is the Nova remote for one gate or one garage door: a single button that runs one motor or one receiver channel. It sends Centurion Systems code-hopping on 433.92MHz, runs on a GP23 12V alkaline battery and has a LED that warns you when the battery is low. If you want the gate and the garage on one remote, look at the Nova 2 button or the Nova 4 button instead.
Which motors and receivers it works with
The Nova works with Centurion Systems SMART and SMART+ gate and garage motors, such as the D5-Evo SMART and the D6 SMART. It also learns into the onboard receivers in the D5-Evo, D10, VECTOR2, XTrac, SECTOR and G2, and into NOVA and NOVA HELIX receivers. Got another brand of motor? Then that motor needs a NOVA HELIX receiver before a Nova remote can run it.
Pairing your Nova remote
A new remote has to be learned into the receiver before it works. You or your installer do this with Centurion Systems' Nova remotes instructions, linked under Documents on this page. Alectra Solutions supplies the remote only. Once it is learned in, the button sends a code-hopping signal, which is Centurion Systems' word for a code that changes every time you press it. The coding inside is Keeloq.
Battery, size and build
The Nova takes a GP23 12V alkaline battery, not a CR2032 coin cell, so keep that in mind when you buy a spare. The LED tells you when the battery is low. The case is weatherproof with silicone buttons, measures 59 x 35 x 16mm, weighs 38g and is rated for -15°C to +50°C. The photo shows the black body with its carbon-look panel and one blue button, held in a blue clip with a keyring loop. The body rotates in that clip.
