The Centurion Systems Nova 2 button is the Nova remote for a gate and a garage: two buttons, each running its own device or receiver channel, so the blue button can open the driveway gate and the red one the garage door. It sends Centurion Systems code-hopping on 433.92MHz, runs on a GP23 12V alkaline battery and has a LED battery warning. For one device there is the Nova 1 button, and for up to four the Nova 4 button.

Gate on one button, garage on the other

Each button is learned into its own motor or receiver channel. Put the gate on one button and the garage door on the other, or use the second button for another device on its own channel. One remote then does the work of two, which means one less remote in the car.

Which Centurion Systems motors it works with

The Nova 2 works with Centurion Systems SMART and SMART+ gate and garage motors, such as the D5-Evo SMART and the D3 SMART. It also learns into the onboard receivers in the D5-Evo, D10, VECTOR2, XTrac, SECTOR and G2, and into NOVA and NOVA HELIX receivers. Another brand of motor needs a NOVA HELIX receiver before a Nova remote can run it.

Pairing, battery and build

You or your installer learn each button into the receiver, following Centurion Systems' Nova remotes instructions linked under Documents. Alectra Solutions supplies the remote only. The battery is a GP23 12V alkaline, and the LED tells you when it is low. The case is weatherproof, measures 59 x 35 x 16mm, weighs 38g and is rated for -15°C to +50°C. The photo shows the black body with a carbon-look panel, a blue and a red button, and a blue clip with a keyring loop. The body rotates in the clip.

Questions people ask
Can one Nova remote open my gate and my garage?

Yes, that is what the Nova 2 button is for. Each button is learned into its own motor or receiver channel, so one button runs the gate and the other the garage door.

Will it work with my Centurion Systems D3 SMART?

Yes. The Nova works with Centurion Systems SMART and SMART+ gate and garage motors, including the D3 SMART and D5-Evo SMART.

My garage motor is another brand. Can the Nova 2 still run it?

Only through a NOVA HELIX receiver on that motor. The Nova button is learned into the NOVA HELIX receiver.

Which battery does the Nova 2 button take?

A GP23 12V alkaline battery. The LED warns you when it is low.

How do I program the two buttons?

You or your installer learn them in using Centurion Systems' Nova remotes instructions, linked under Documents. Alectra Solutions supplies the remote only.

What range does it have?

Centurion Systems gives no range figure for the Nova 2 button, so we do not quote one.

Need it fitted? Alectra Solutions supplies product only. Find a certified Centurion Systems installer at myinstaller.co.za.
