A 10A solar charge controller that uses PWM charging, for 12V or 24V solar setups. It sits between the solar panel and the battery and controls how the battery is charged, and its load terminals let you run a small DC load, such as a light, straight off the battery. The LCD shows solar, battery and load readings on one screen, and there are USB ports on the front panel as well.
How a 10A solar charge controller fits into your setup
The panel connects to the controller, the controller connects to the battery, and whatever you want to run connects to the load terminals. The controller handles the charging, so the panel is not wired straight to the battery. When you choose a panel, its voltage should suit the battery voltage, whether that is a 12V or a 24V system, and check its current against the controller's 10A rating.
What the LCD shows
The screen has three lines: one for the solar input, one for the battery and one for the load. That way you can see at a glance what the panel is giving, what the battery is reading and what the load is drawing. Below the screen are two push buttons and two indicator lights.
Terminals and USB ports
Along the bottom are six screw terminals in three pairs, marked for the solar panel, the battery and the load. USB ports sit on both sides of the front panel. Alectra supplies the controller only; have it wired up by your installer or electrician.
