This is a 12V 7.2Ah AGM sealed lead acid gate motor battery for motors that take a 12V 7Ah or 7.2Ah battery. Centurion Systems D3, D5-Evo and VANTAGE motors take one; the D6, D10 and D20 take two. It also suits Gemini 12V sliders built for a 7Ah battery. This listing is the general AGM battery; if you would rather have the motor maker's own battery, see the Centurion Systems 12V 7Ah battery or the Gemini 12V 7.2Ah battery.
Gate motor battery 12V 7Ah: which motors take it?
- One battery: Centurion Systems D3, D5-Evo and VANTAGE.
- Two batteries: Centurion Systems D6, D10 and D20.
- Gemini 12V sliders: the Gemini manual gives 12V 7Ah or 12Ah. This battery is for the ones built for 7Ah, such as the Gemini Slider 12V 7Ah.
It is not the usual garage door motor battery. Most garage door motors take a small 12V battery, such as the ProSec 12V 2.3Ah, or a 24V battery.
Size and terminals
The case is 151 x 65 x 99mm and the battery weighs about 2kg, with F1 tabs, the small spade terminals. Hold your old battery next to these sizes before you order, so you know it will sit in the battery tray.
Charging and care
The label gives a cycle charge of 14.4 to 14.7V and a standby charge of 13.5 to 13.8V, with an initial current of 2.1A. It is sealed AGM, so there is nothing to top up. Do not let it heat above 40°C. The same battery is also used in alarm panels and other 12V standby equipment. Alectra Solutions supplies the equipment only.
