This 12V DC UPS is a battery backup power supply for 12V security equipment. It runs off the mains and keeps a 12V sealed lead acid battery charged. When the power fails, your alarm, CCTV or access control carries on running from the battery, and once the power is back the unit recharges the battery. It plugs into a standard South African wall socket. Check the current your equipment draws and the battery size with us before you order.
How a 12V DC UPS works
With the mains on, the unit supplies 12V DC to your equipment and charges the battery. When the mains goes off, the equipment runs from the battery instead, so the alarm panel, cameras or access control stay up. When the mains comes back, the unit charges the battery again, ready for the next outage.

It is made for 12V security equipment such as alarm panels, CCTV cameras and access control. Add up the current that everything on the 12V side draws and send us the list; we will confirm that this unit covers it before you order.
Choosing the battery
The unit takes a 12V sealed lead acid battery. We sell the 12V 7.2Ah AGM battery and the 12V 8Ah gel battery. Tell us which one you want and we will check the size and charge voltage against the unit. Do not fit a lithium battery unless we have confirmed that the unit allows it.
How long will it keep things running?
That depends on the battery capacity and on how much current your equipment draws. A bigger battery or a smaller load runs for longer. Send us your equipment list and we will work it out with you. Alectra Solutions supplies the equipment only.
