This 100x100x70mm waterproof junction box is the bigger of our two square junction boxes. It has stepped cable entries that you cut open to suit the cable, and a lid that fixes with four screws, one in each corner. That gives you more room for joins than the 85x85x50mm junction box, which has push-out knockouts and a click-on lid. Use it where cables meet outdoors: at a CCTV camera, at gate or alarm beams, or on a garden light run.
Stepped cable entries
Each entry is stepped, with rings of different sizes. Cut it open at the step that matches your cable so the cable fits snugly, and leave the entries you do not need closed. Where you can, bring the cables in from the sides or the bottom rather than the top, so water running down a cable is not led into the box.
Four-screw lid
The lid fixes with a screw in each corner. It stays put once it is screwed down, and it comes off easily when you need to get to the joins again for a fault or a change.
Using a waterproof junction box outdoors
On a CCTV job the box holds the joins between the camera lead and the cable run: BNC connectors on the RG59 cable with power and a DC plug for the camera power. For beams and garden lights it keeps the cable joins together in one closed box instead of taped joins out in the open.
Mains wiring and the CoC
If the box is on a mains (230V) circuit, for example garden lights on mains power, the wiring must be done by a registered electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance (CoC). Alectra Solutions supplies the box only; we do not install.

Cut the entry open with a sharp knife at the step that matches the thickness of your cable, then push the cable through. Only open the entries you need.
Yes. It is a good spot for the BNC and DC power joins between the camera lead and the RG59 cable run, so they are not left hanging outside.
