The Nemtek Druid 15 LCD energizer is a single zone electric fence energizer for homes and business premises, with a colour-change LCD screen that shows the state of the fence at a glance. Nemtek rates it at 4.6 joules into a 500 ohm load with an open-circuit voltage of 9000V. It runs on 240V mains with a 12V 7Ah backup battery built in, and Nemtek's Adaptive Power Technology (APT) adjusts the output to suit the fence, which cuts energy waste and false alarms. The tag that switches it on and off is in the box.
What's in the box
- Druid 15 LCD energizer
- 12V 7Ah backup battery
- Energizer tag
- 4 nail-in anchors
What the screen tells you
The background colour of the LCD changes with the fence: blue when the energizer is off, green when the fence is fine, yellow when there is an alarm in the history, and red for a live alarm. You can see the state of the fence without touching the unit. The energizer also alarms on tampering or faults on the high voltage and earth wires, and it has a walk test mode so the fence can be checked while it runs.
Which Nemtek energizer do you need?
The Druid 15 LCD sits between the Nemtek Wizord 4i (3.7 J) and the Merlin Stealth M18S (7.6 J) in Nemtek's range, and it is the one to choose if you want a screen on the unit rather than indicator lights. If you want the fence split in two, so the alarm tells you which side was touched, choose the Merlin Stealth M28S dual zone energizer.
Battery backup is built in
The 12V 7Ah sealed lead acid battery sits inside the energizer and is kept charged from the mains. Nemtek rates the standby time at about 24 hours on a fully charged battery, so the fence stays live through load shedding. When the battery gets old, replace it with a 12V 7Ah sealed lead acid battery such as our G-MAX7 12V 7.2Ah battery.
Tag or keypad
Hold the tag over the Nemtek logo on the front of the unit to switch the fence on or off. A spare tag is available if the original goes missing. To arm and disarm from inside the house, add the optional Druid keypad: Nemtek allows up to 2 keypads per energizer. The keypad is not included.
Inputs and outputs
A gate alarm input raises an alarm when a gate is opened while the fence is armed. There is a siren output and a strobe output (strobe up to 20W, siren plus strobe 1.75A maximum), and the energizer can trigger an armed response radio or GSM module. It has two power modes: high power is adjustable from 6.0 to 9.2 kV, and low power runs the fence at 1.0 to 3.0 kV.
Where to mount it
The Druid 15 LCD is rated IPx4, so it needs a covered position out of direct rain. Where there is no cover, it fits inside the DTS MS5 weatherproof box. Nemtek supplies four nail-in anchors for fixing it to the wall. Fit one Nemtek Double Pole Lightning Diverter between the energizer and the fence. The fence and its mains connection must be installed and certified by a registered electric fence installer, who issues the electric fence system certificate. Alectra supplies the equipment only.
Key features
- Colour-change LCD. Blue for off, green for OK, yellow for an alarm in the history and red for a live alarm.
- Adaptive Power Technology. APT adjusts the output to suit the fence automatically, which cuts energy waste and false alarms.
- Battery backup built in. A 12V 7Ah battery inside the unit keeps the fence live for about 24 hours when the mains goes off.
- Tag included. Arm and disarm the fence by holding the magnetic tag over the logo on the front of the unit.
- Keypad optional. Add up to 2 Druid keypads, sold separately, to control the fence from inside.
- Gate alarm input. Connect a gate contact so the fence alarms when the gate is opened while it is armed.
- Siren and strobe outputs. Strobe output up to 20W, siren plus strobe 1.75A maximum, plus a connection for an armed response radio or GSM module.
- High and low power modes. High power adjustable from 6.0 to 9.2 kV; low power mode runs the fence at 1.0 to 3.0 kV.
- Lightning and surge protection. Built-in protection for the energizer on long fence runs and during storms.
- 2 year warranty. Nemtek covers its energizers for two years from the date of sale.

Questions people ask
Nemtek rates it at 4.6 joules into a 500 ohm load. The energy that reaches the fence depends on the power setting and the fence load, so we quote Nemtek's figure rather than a rounded number.
Adaptive Power Technology adjusts the energizer's output to suit the fence it is connected to. Nemtek says this cuts wasted energy and false alarms.
Blue means the energizer is off, green means the fence is fine, yellow means there is an alarm in the history, and red means a live alarm.
Yes. The 12V 7Ah battery inside the unit is kept charged from the mains and runs the fence for about 24 hours when the power is off.
Yes. The Druid 15 LCD comes with its 12V 7Ah battery, the energizer tag and 4 nail-in anchors.
Yes. Nemtek's Druid keypad is optional and up to 2 keypads can be connected to one energizer. The keypad is sold separately.
Nemtek does not list the Nemtek Connect app on the Druid 15 LCD page or in its manuals, so we do not claim it. If phone control matters to you, the Wizord 4i and the Merlin Stealth are listed by Nemtek as Nemtek Connect ready.
The energizer runs on 240V mains, so the mains connection and the fence must be done by a registered electric fence installer who can issue the compliance certificate. Alectra supplies the equipment only.
