Electric fence bobbins come in a few patterns, and the omega bobbin is the clip type: a black insulator with a two-hole foot that fixes flat to the bracket, and a clip that holds the fence wire in the insulator. It is sold each, price per bobbin. Unlike the flat bar bobbin and the round bar bobbin, it mounts on its foot and the clip closes over the wire. Our own square tube and round bar brackets come with their bobbins fitted, so this insulator is for fences built on omega-type brackets. Check it suits your bracket before you order.
What the clip does
Once the wire is in the insulator, the clip holds it there so it cannot lift out of the groove. That keeps the line seated when it is tensioned and when the fence expands and contracts with the weather.
Fixing the foot
The foot has two holes and sits flat against the bracket face. Fixings are not included; use screws or bolts to suit the bracket.
