The ET Nice Drive 500 is a 12V sliding gate motor for home gates up to 500kg, and this listing is the kit: the motor with its base plate, the 16V plug-in transformer, 4m of nylon rack, two ET Blu Mix 4-button remotes and a 12V 7Ah battery. It is the low traffic home model in the ET Drive range. For busy driveways and complexes the Drive 600 has the same 500kg rating with a 98% duty cycle, the Drive 300 suits light gates and the Drive 1000 is for industrial gates.

Battery backup is built in

The Drive 500 runs from its 12V battery, and the built-in 1A multi-stage charger keeps it full from the plug-in transformer. ET rates it at 100 operations within the first 24 hours of a power cut on the standard 7Ah battery, measured on a 5m gate and depending on the battery's health and charge. When the battery is old, replace it with a standard 12V 7Ah gate motor battery such as our G-MAX7 12V 7.2Ah sealed lead acid battery. Alectra Solutions supplies the equipment only.

Drive 500 or Drive 600?

Both are rated for 500kg gates. The Drive 500 is the low traffic model (25% duty cycle) that suits most homes, and it runs from the plug-in transformer in the kit. The Drive 600 has an ACDC power pack inside, so it runs at a 98% duty cycle for complexes and busy driveways; it is hard-wired to 220V through an isolator by a registered electrician. For light gates up to 300kg see the Drive 300, and for industrial gates the Drive 1000.

Built with security in mind

The ET Blu Mix rolling code receiver stores up to 1,023 remotes, set up through the LCD menu, and still works with older ET Blue remotes. Programming can be locked with a PIN code, and the controller monitors the gate and safety beams for tampering. Holiday lock-out, party mode and positive close are built in, and the auxiliary relay has several modes. ET Nice gives a 12 month warranty on the motor and 6 months on the battery, with brushes excluded.
