The Sentry dual frequency learning remote (model METX4-D) copies the remotes you already have onto one handset. It works on both 403.55MHz and 433.92MHz, each of its four buttons can learn a different remote, and it knows seven code types, so one Sentry can replace several gate, garage and alarm remotes.

Which remotes can it copy?

It learns binary, inverted binary, trinary, inverted trinary, French, Smart and code hopping remotes on 403MHz or 433MHz. If you are not sure what your remote uses, bring it to one of our branches and we will check the frequency and code type for you.

How to copy a remote

  • Hold your old remote right up against the slot end of the Sentry, where its receiving antenna is.
  • Press and hold the Sentry button you want to use. After 3 to 4 seconds the LED flashes red for the 403MHz band.
  • Need 433MHz? Press the same button again and the LED flashes green.
  • Press the button on your old remote. The LED flashes 3 times when the code is saved.

Copying a code hopping remote? Then the Sentry must also be learned into your receiver, using that receiver's own instructions, or the receiver will not respond to it. The full steps are in the quick guides in the photos. Alectra Solutions supplies the remote only.

Can it clone any gate remote?

It copies remotes that use binary, inverted binary, trinary, inverted trinary, French, Smart or code hopping codes on 403MHz or 433MHz. If you are not sure what yours uses, bring it to a branch and we will check.

Why does a copied code hopping remote not open my gate?

With code hopping, the Sentry must also be learned into your receiver after the copy. Use your receiver's own learning steps.

Can each button copy a different remote?

Yes. Each of the four buttons learns its own remote, on either band.

How do I know which band a button is on?

The LED flashes red for 403MHz and green for 433MHz while you program it.

Which battery does it take?

An internal 12V battery, type 23A.
