The DTS TX5 Octo is the DTS remote that gets nine functions out of five buttons. Buttons 1 to 4 give functions 1 to 4, the red upper-level button opens up functions 5 to 8, and holding the red button gives a ninth, which DTS uses as its panic button. It sends DTS's encrypted code hopping on 433.92MHz, 64 bit with all DTS receivers, and it cannot be cloned. It is the remote for DTS gate motors such as the DTS Expert gate motor full kit.

How 5 buttons give 8 functions plus panic

  • Functions 1 to 4: press button 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  • Functions 5 to 8: press the red upper-level button first (the LED shows green for 2 seconds), then button 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  • Function 9, panic: hold the red button down for more than 2 seconds.

DTS also puts a door lock and unlock function on button 3. In the photo the four function buttons sit in two rows (white, yellow, green and blue) with the red upper-level button on its own below them.

Encrypted code hopping that cannot be cloned

DTS calls its coding encrypted code hopping. With all DTS receivers it runs at 64 bit, and DTS says the remote cannot be cloned. DTS receivers take the TX5 Octo only, so if you have a DTS gate motor, this is the remote to buy.

CR2032 battery and low-battery warning

The remote runs on a CR2032 coin cell. When the LED flashes red, the battery is low and due for a change. It is rated for -10°C to 60°C. DTS gives a 12 month guarantee on the remote; the battery is excluded.

Pairing to your DTS receiver

A new remote must be learned into your DTS receiver before it works. You or your installer do this with the motor or receiver manual; the DTS datasheet is in the documents on this page.
